For the last several months, I’ve been able to make a dedicated effort to creating new graphics works with the hope of expanding my portfolio and audience. This site, Facebook, and various online shops have all achieved part of that goal.

Now, you have a chance to help.

If you live in the Scranton, Pa., area and are free on Friday, Aug. 1, you can be part of a unique exhibit I’m working to put together that will be tied to The Vintage’s “24 Hours of Art” event. The downtown gallery and performance space will conduct its traditional First Friday exhibit from 6-9 p.m. From there, they will conduct 24 hours of art and entertainment programming thanks in part to a grant from Lackawanna County.

In order to get involved, I would like to have 10-12 friends serve as a “living gallery” in the open air lot at the corner of Spruce Street and Penn Avenue (or indoors, depending on the weather). You’ll get to choose the shirt (size, color, and design) you wear that evening, and would be asked commit about 90 minutes of your time to speak with First Friday-goers, tell them why you’re wearing the shirt, and just be a lovely human being in general.

I told the Vintage I would give them a definitive yes or no by the beginning of June, so if you could please email me if you’d like to get involved at peterparker.pa@gmail.com as soon as possible, it would be greatly appreciated.

After the “living gallery,” prints of the works worn by all of you (and likely a few others) will be on display at The Vintage throughout their 24-hour long festivities.

Thanks in advance. Let’s make this happen!
